We designed and patented the Dogmatic Headcollar originally to use on our own Dobermanns, Evie, Tommy and Leila as we wanted a secure, safe and comfortable Headcollar to use at both Shows and during walks, training, obedience etc., that stopped pulling but did not ride up or go near the eyes.
We also needed a Headcollar that would still enable one of the designers to continue exercising her dogs despite ten major back operations, two major neck operations leaving her with long term pain and arthritis. We were stopped whilst out with them by people asking to have one and the interest grew through word of mouth.

Following on from the Luxurious Lined Leather Dogmatic, we introduced the Padded Cushioned Webbing(PCW) range after several years of trialling and testing. It offers all the comfort and control of the original renowned Leather Dogmatic Headcollar with the soft, gentle touch of slimline, luxurious, padded cushioned webbing plus offering fun, friendly designs and colours.
We are confident our ranges meet our stringent requirements and both have proven winners to both Trade and Public Customers alike. We were delighted that the Dogmatic has been voted Top Headcollar after a six month trial of six makes of Headcollar by Your Dog Magazine and voted Tester’s Choice of Headcollar 2011.

Both the Leather and PCW Headcollars are designed to offer complete but gentle control. They will not ride up, under or into your dog’s eyes and are more securely and comfortably fitted. The unique strapping under and at the sides of the chin ensures the Dogmatic stays in place and the nose band does not ride up under or into the eyes which causes distress and discomfort to your dog. The loop under the chin to which the lead is attached works independently of the other straps and can be moved forward, downwards, back, upwards or sideways as required without causing any other straps to lose their position. This means the handler can move and alter their dog’s head position leading to total control.
An extra bonus is that, in an emergency, the Dogmatic can be used to close your dog’s mouth and turn it’s head to enable you to keep it safe but the loop immediately releases again, allowing your dog to once again pant, drink, carry a toy, eat a treat…
